Iktomi was a sly and cunning man but he was also very lazy.  He figured out a plan to trick some ducks into coming near to hi so he could have them for dinner.  He cooks them up but before he could eat them he got stuck high in a tree trying to break up a fight between trees.  A coyote strolled along and saw the ducks ready to eat and he chowed them down.  Iktomi was upset and swore vengeance upon the coyote.  He got out of the tree and found
