Carolyn Taylor; artistic director

Ms. Taylor is the owner of the prestigious Buenaventura Dance Academy and artistic director of the Buenaventura Ballet company and affiliated Junior Ballet and Les Petit. Ms. Taylor began her teaching career in 1967 and has owned and directed the Academy since 1970. She performed professionally as well as being in numerous ballets & musical theatre productions. She has taught on the national faculty of the National Association of Dance & Affiliated Artists and has served on numerous boards promoting the performing arts and dance in Ventura County. She has produced and choreographed countless productions involving young aspiring dancers as well as seasoned professionals and presented them in various venues to the great benefit of the public of the county. Ms. Taylor celebrated her 25th year as artistic director with gala performances in July of 1995 including former students who are now in the professional field of dance. In 2005 our Academy will celebrate our 35 th year with gala anniversary performances in July. Ms. Taylor brings her love and dedication to dance to each and every student and is delighted and eternally grateful to be in a profession that she loves so much.
